Hoeneß confirms the half-time blackout
Speaking to Sky Germany reporter Patrick Wasserziehr immediately after the final whistle, Hoeneß acknowledged the power failure when asked directly. "There was no more light. The lights didn't go out on us — in the dressing room there was simply no light," he said, offering a wry distinction between the literal darkness and Stuttgart's evening on the pitch. The cause of the outage was not disclosed.
No stumbling, no excuses
When pressed on how the squad managed the unusual circumstances, Hoeneß was measured and appeared to see the funny side. "It was light enough, we could see each other and we didn't stumble. So everything was fine," he said with a smile.
