Three children have been killed and six others hospitalised after debris from a Ukrainian drone fell on a private children's centre in Krasnodar, in southern Russia, in what regional authorities described as a large-scale overnight drone assault. Russia's Presidential Commissioner for Children's Rights, Maria Lvova-Belova, said in a Telegram post that the three children who died were teenagers aged 13, 15, and 16.

Attack on civilian infrastructure

Krasnodar's regional governor, Veniamin Kondratyev, confirmed the strike and said downed drones had also hit apartment buildings and properties under construction elsewhere in the regional capital, leaving two adults injured and setting several warehouses alight. "This night, the territory of Krasnodar suffered a massive attack by enemy unmanned vehicles. Once again, the targets were public and civilian infrastructure, our children," Kondratyev wrote. The precise circumstances — whether the children's centre was struck by a falling drone brought down by Russian air defences or by a direct impact — were not clarified by the authorities.

Ozon warehouses struck across four regions

The overnight raid extended well beyond Krasnodar. Ukrainian drones struck four Ozon logistics facilities in a single night, targeting the second-largest e-commerce company in Russia after Wildberries. An Ozon warehouse in the Krasnodar region caught fire; the company said all employees had been evacuated and there were no injuries at that site. Its logistics centre in Makhachkala, the capital of Russia's Republic of Dagestan on the Caspian Sea, was also hit and set ablaze. Ozon said that, according to initial reports, several people there had been injured and operations at the facility had been halted. Workers at Ozon sites in Adygeisk, in the Republic of Adygea, and in Nevinnomyssk, in Stavropol Krai, were also evacuated after drone strikes. The governor of Adygea, Murat Kumpilov, confirmed a fire at the Ozon logistics centre in his region.

The campaign against Ozon's infrastructure began on Saturday 22 August, when Ukrainian drones struck its facilities in Samara Oblast in the Volga basin. A further attack on an Ozon warehouse in Orenburg, on the southern Urals border with Kazakhstan, followed on Sunday. Wildberries, Ozon's main domestic rival, had already been subjected to repeated Ukrainian drone strikes against its own logistics centres in the latter half of July.

Ukrainian military confirms strikes

Robert Brovdi, the head of Ukraine's drone forces, confirmed the attacks in a Facebook post. He claimed that Ukrainian drones had also struck a MiG-29 fighter jet stationed at Rostov, four radar systems in the same region, electrical infrastructure in Ukrainian territories under Russian control, and two vessels used by Russia for exports. These additional claims were not independently verified at the time of reporting. Ukraine has described its sustained campaign against Russian logistics and commercial infrastructure as an effort to weaken the Russian economy.
