Witcher 3 Remaster Arrives 29 Sept

CD Projekt Red has announced a full remaster of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the RPG that launched in 2015, with the updated release set to arrive on 29 September. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered will deliver enhanced visuals, reworked combat, and what the studio describes as a "reimagined" skill tree, and will bundle both of the game's existing expansions, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine.

Free upgrade across PC and current-generation consoles

Owners of the base game on GOG, Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S will receive Remastered as a free upgrade at launch. The release also marks the game's arrival on the Nintendo Switch 2, extending its platform reach for the first time since a next-gen upgrade was issued in 2022. The Gamescom Opening Night Live showcase featured the remaster prominently ahead of its confirmed release date.

A broader franchise push through to 2028

CD Projekt Red has positioned Remastered as the opening move in a sustained franchise expansion. The studio has confirmed a brand-new Witcher 3 expansion, titled Songs of the Past, is scheduled for 2027, while the next mainline entry, The Witcher 4, is targeted for 2028. CD Projekt Red has publicly set 2028 as its release target for The Witcher 4, signalling the studio's intent to sustain momentum across the franchise over the next several years. The remaster, the new expansion, and the mainline sequel collectively represent the most concentrated period of Witcher releases since the franchise began.
